Samsung Launches Galaxy S3; New Flagship Smartphone

At an event earlier today in London, Samsung launched the Galaxy S3, the company’s new Android-poweredflagship smartphone, the BBC reports .
The device features a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED screen, which is bigger than the 4.3-inch screen in the Galaxy S2. (And lots bigger than the 3.5 inch display for the Apple iPhone 4S and the 4.3 inch Nokia Lumia 900.)
The phone has an 8 MP camera on the back and a 1.9 MP camera on the front forvideo calls. Also included on the phone: aSiri-like voice control software system called S Voice. The phone runs the latest version of Google’s Android 4.0 Ice CreamSandwich OS. The S3 is powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 4 quad-core processor running at 1.4 GHz.
Samsung will offer versions of the phone with 16, 32, and 64 GB of memory.
The new phone will be sold in two colors: pebble blue and marble white. The device launches in Europe at the end of this month. A U.S. version is coming this summer.
