Airtel’s Mobile Education Services _mEducation

Bharti Airtel launched ‘mEducation’, providing access to a range of mobile education services such as English lessons, exam preparation and career advice.
The platform allows Airtel customers across India to easily access various education services including courses for language skills, entrance exam preparation and career counseling from universities and professors in India.
The services are priced ranging from Rs. 1.5 to Rs. 10 per day. They are delivered over both voice and SMS formats and offer an interactive learning experience in the native language of customers.
Airtel is also offering mock tests for the entrance and competitive exams of courses such as MBA priced at Rs. 99 for a series of 12 mock tests.

facebook launches privacy updates and new tools


Facebook will roll out a few privacy updates and new tools at the end of 2012. It will include easy to access Privacy Shortcuts on the top right corner of the facebook  blue bar, an easier-to-use Activity Log, and a new Request and Removal tool for managing multiple photos you’re tagged in, according to the news room.
The Facebook updates will also include in-context reminders about how stuff you hide from timeline may still appear in news feed, search, and other places. The new changes will bring controls in context where you share, help you understand what appears where as you use Facebook, and provide tools to help you act on content you don’t like.
The updated Activity Log has new navigation enabling you to easily review your own activity, such as your likes and comments, photos of you, and posts you have been tagged in. With the Request and Removal tool, you can take action on multiple photos you are tagged in. Go to the “Photos of You” tab, select multiple photos, and ask friends to take down the shots you don’t like. The tool also lets you untag multiple photos at once

Nationwide Mobile Number Portability by February 2013


Nationwide Mobile Number Portability is expected to be rolled out by February 2013. This was announced by the Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal at the ‘India Telecom 2012′ in New Delhi. This will allow mobile subscribers to retain their numbers even when they shift to a different telecom circle.Currently, a user is allowed to switch to a different operator within his/her circle, while retaining his/her phone number.

India has 22 telecom circles. According to TRAI, by the end of October 2012, about 75.14 million subscribers have submitted their requests to different service providers for porting their mobile number
